National associations
The Dutch Research Institute for Psychology & Health is currently more than 100 members and about 70 Ph.D. students (see http://pandh.fss.uu.nl). At the moment, the research program includes nine different expert groups.
Since 2007, 'Psychologie en Gezondheid' (previously called 'Gedrag & Gezondheid', from 1973 - 2006) is the Dutch journal for papers to the field of Health Psychology (http://www.bsl.nl/gedragengezondheid). |

Education, training & professionalisation
At this moment, there are 6 masters in Health Psychology in the Netherlands: Leiden, Utrecht, Tilburg, Amsterdam VU, Maastricht and Rotterdam. After finishing a master in Health Psychology, students can continue their clinical career by doing a two-year postdoctoral training in Health Psychology, hereby attaining the degree of Health Psychologist (Gezondheidszorgpsycholoog). This program is being offered since 1998. Instead of doing the general program, students may choose to do a specialized program (focusing on children or elderly). In the previous months, my activities were mainly focused on presenting EPHS materials at relevant Dutch conferences such as at the annual meeting of the Dutch Behavioral Medicine Society and the annual conference of the Dutch Psychology & Health organization. |
