On April 29th 2011 the EHPS was formally associated with the United Nations – the Division of Public Information/ NGO section of the UN in New York. This solidifies EHPS' association with the UN and its principles, goals and activities. EHPS members are now actively attending UN/NGO meetings and discussions and connecting with other professional psychological societies who are associates (such as: American Psychological Association (APA), the International Association for Applied Psychology (IAAP), the International Council of Psychologists (ICP), the International Union of Psychological Sciences (IUPsyS), the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) and others.
EHPS's Representation at the United Nations
- Five EHPS members are appointed as representatives to the UN: Paul Norman, Irina Todorova, Nihal Mohammed, Sebastian Wagner and Jessica Lake (as youth representative). Most of the representatives are currently working in New York City, and attend monthly briefings, conferences, meetings with UN officials, and other activities at UN headquarters.
- An EHPS committee was established to coordinate EHPS activites related to UN association, whose members are: Alden Lai, Jessica Lake, Marta Marques, Susan Michie, Nihal Mohamed, Efrat Neter, Golan Shahar, Suzanne Skevington, Irina Todorova and Sebastian Wagner.

Events
- EHPS UN representatives attended the Orientation for newly associated organizations at the United Nations (June 1 & 2, 2011).
- EHPS UN delegates attended the 64th UN – NGO Annual Conference 2011. This year the Conference was on the theme of “Sustainable Societies, Responsive Citizens”. It took place from September 3rd- 5th 2011 in Bonn, Germany. The conference gives EHPS the unique opportunity to contribute to international discussions and UN policies, to connect with delegates from other organization associated with the UN, including associated psychological professional organizations. We received several applications and the EC delegated Golan Shahar and Alden Lai as delegates. See below for their reports.
