EHPS Conference, CREATE Workshop, Synergy Expert Meeting and Bring a Stakeholder Grants – application deadline Friday 17th May 2024

The EHPS is pleased to announce the 2024 conference grant funding scheme to support conference and/or workshop or expert meeting attendance at the EHPS Conference in Cascais, Portugal 3rd – 6th September 2024.

The purpose of these grants is to encourage talented researchers, stakeholders and graduate students who do not otherwise have access to funding to attend the conference and/or CREATE workshops or Synergy Expert meetings.

For the upcoming conference, the following grants will be offered:

  1. EHPS Conference Grants: for graduate students and researchers who plan to attend the EHPS conference. Each grant is for a maximum of 950 euros toward conference registration, accommodation, and travel. Grant is contingent upon having a paper or a poster accepted for
  2. CREATE Workshop Grants: for graduate students who plan to attend the CREATE workshop. Each grant is for a maximum of 1050 euros towards workshop registration, conference registration fee, accommodation and travel.
  3. Synergy Expert Meeting Grants: for researchers who are accepted onto the Synergy Expert Meeting. Each grant is for a maximum of 1150 euros towards expert meeting registration, conference registration fee, accommodation, and travel.
  4. Bring a Stakeholder Grants: To optimise the understanding of the implications of health psychology research for policy and practice this grant will enable applicants to bring a non-academic collaborator or partner (such as a healthcare practitioner, policy maker, charitable worker, industrial partner) to the conference for some mutual knowledge transfer. A maximum of 1200 euro is available to go towards the stakeholders’ conference fee, accommodation, travel, and subsistence. Applications must be led by the academic collaborator, with the stakeholder as a named co-applicant.

Reviewing: Conference grant applications will be reviewed by a committee led by the Grants Officer and with a Synergy reviewer and a CREATE reviewer.

CREATE and Synergy grant applications will be dual reviewed by the Grants Officer plus either the CREATE or Synergy reviewer respectively.

‘Bring a Stakeholder’ grant applications will be reviewed by the Grants Officer and the EHPS Executive Committee President or President-Elect.

Notifications: Decisions on acceptance/rejection of submitted applications will be sent after the deadline.

A condition of funding is that successful awardees will be required to write (a) a collective conference report for potential publication in European Health Psychologist (EHP) facilitated by the EHP Editorial Team and (b) a 300-500-word individual short report on how the grant helped with their career or their networking opportunities. These awardee reports are to reflect on what was gained (academically and personally) through the EHPS Grant supported attendance.
