About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The European Health Psychologist (EHP) is the official publication of the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS). It provides a forum for sharing ideas, perspectives, developments, and experiences relevant to health psychology research, practice, education, and professional development.

EHP welcomes high-quality contributions that reflect the breadth and diversity of contemporary health psychology. We particularly encourage contributions that stimulate discussion, connect research and practice, reflect on emerging developments and challenges, or offer new perspectives on issues relevant to health psychologists and the wider EHPS community.

EHP supports a range of contribution formats, including scientific and reflective pieces, perspectives and commentaries, interviews, reports from conferences and other EHPS activities, and contributions highlighting developments in research and practice. Rather than being restricted to conventional academic article formats, EHP aims to provide a flexible and accessible space for scientific and professional exchange within the health psychology community.

EHP does not publish traditional full-length empirical research articles or systematic reviews that fall within the scope of the EHPS peer-reviewed journals Psychology & Health and Health Psychology Review. Where appropriate, shorter empirical contributions or other formats may be considered in line with EHP's scope and editorial policy.

We welcome ideas for contributions, including those that may not fit within an established format. Prospective authors are encouraged to contact the editorial team to discuss their ideas.

Open Access Policy

The European Health Psychologist is an open-access publication. All content is freely and immediately available online, without subscription or registration requirements.

By providing unrestricted access to its content, EHP supports the open exchange of knowledge, ideas, and professional experiences across the health psychology community and beyond. Readers are free to access and read all current and previous issues through the EHP website.
